Before Surgery

What happens if I need surgery?

If Dr Di Nallo considers that you need surgery, he will discuss with you the pros and cons of undergoing such procedure. It is important that you are aware of what is happening with your body, be aware of the options and together, make the best decision for you.
If you agree to undergo surgery, you will sign a written surgical consent with Dr Di Nallo.
Surgery will require a follow up that will be arranged timely and according to your needs.

Do I need to do anything else?
If you need surgery, you may require to do further imaging studies and blood tests to be sure you are fit for surgery.
In some circumstances, you may also have to be assessed by another physician.
It is important that you call your Health insurance to be sure that you are properly covered.

What happens leading up to the surgery?
We will be in touch with you, so you know how to proceed on the day of the surgery. Also, you will receive a call from the Hospital to be sure you are ready to be admitted the day of surgery and discuss any concerns you may have.

What if I am not sure what to do?
If you feel unsure, communicate with the Team. Dr Di Nallo will be more than happy to have a second consultation if necessary. Also, this is an important step, so Dr Di Nallo highly recommends you to discuss this with your family and friends before taking the final decision. Also, Dr Di Nallo will be helpful to arrange a second opinion with another Orthopaedic Surgeon if you need one.
Under no conditions, should you make a quick decision. Be sure to arrange your personal, working and financial life first, as your recovery might affect them.
